Staying At Vittoria Suites Kisumu City
Kisumu City is such a vibrant and dynamic city. It’s an incredible place to come and learn about the lakeside people, their history and their culture. One of the places to relax and recuperate while in Kisumu is the Vittoria suites. It has 70 studio suites which are brightly coloured and set up the Airbnb way. They have a kitchenette, a desk and flat-screen TV. Here is my experience of staying at Vittoria Suites. Vittoria Suites offers a great location that is clean and with friendly staff.
Vittoria Suites is located in the suburbs of Milimani area in Kisumu Town. I loved the location of this hotel. It is in a quiet neighbourhood a good location for anyone who wants to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
How to Get Here
Take a flight to Kisumu town using one of the local airlines: There is an assortment of local airlines to choose from. Depending on what you are going to do in Kisumu you can choose the airline based on the flight timings and availability at the time. The flight from Nairobi to Kisumu is about 45 minutes.
You can hire a vehicle, use your own or go by public means. It takes about 6 hours to get to Kisumu city by road. Once in the city, it is about a 20-minute drive to the hotel. Public means transport are available in Nairobi central business district at designated stages at Afya Center. Easy Coach is the most reliable means of transport. The staff is professional and the buses are not driven fast.
The Hotel is located in Milimani area and few kilometres from Kisumu airport. This is a 24-hour hotel you will always find someone at the reception to assist you. The hotel has a garden, a restaurant, a fish pond, a business centre in case you have some print work and email services, with wi-fi connection and conferencing facilities. It has 70 rooms including a room for differently-abled persons. There is ample secure parking for your vehicle should you opt to come here driving
Being a conferencing facility. The hotel is always busy hosting people from different organizations hosting their conferences here. This should not discourage any honeymooner, solo or business traveller as the rooms equally accommodate you. The food is served buffet-style with a mix of English and African style menus. The food is scrumptious with a wide variety of meals to choose from the buffet.
They have a great array of food and drink served the buffet-style at the hotel’s restaurant located down stairs. There is sitting space both outside and inside. Giving you a chance to marvel at the beautiful lawns. The restaurant also has a bar that offers a wide array of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, including cocktails.
Both breakfast, lunch and dinner are all set in a three-course way menu. The sitting arrangement can be intimate or set as a group depending on your preference.
The rooms are very spacious with large windows that go across the room to give them good lighting. The décor is beautiful with bed linings that have a special theme of bright coloured yellow and green themes. The rooms equally have adequate storage space, with shelves and a wardrobe provided. This is ideal for any long-stay visitor. The rooms either face the lush suburb or the street so if you like peace and quiet specify where you would like your room to be.
The rooms are cosy, with beautiful bright coloured décor. You have the option of staying in a single room, a double room with one bed and also a double room with twin beds. The room keys are cards and they are the same cards that are used to turn on electricity when you enter the room. You place the card in a holder that triggers the lights on. Your wifi password is provided at the back of the room key card.
There is also a section that has coffee and tea that you can prepare as you wind down and relax in your room at the end of the day or even if you are an early riser and need some coffee boost before breakfast. Each room has a small spaced bathroom and toilet. There is a television mounted on the wall for those who love TV. Just below the TV is a table and chair where you can work. This is perfect for those on work and business trips.
Location – Milimani, Kisumu
This is a great place to stay at if you are on a business trip and need a serene and quiet place to work from. You need to get a taxi to get you to the hotel as it is tucked within a suburb in the city.
The service was great and the staff are very professional and they seem to know what they are doing
There are rooms on every floor of the 4th-floor building.
There are wi-fi access and a television in each room
