Shimba Hills National Reserve is one of the remaining and the largest coastal forest in East Africa. Well known for its abundant bird life and the rare Sable Antelope.
In this post I share with you a brief tour of Shimba Hills Lodge the only tree lodge in Shimba Hills National Reserve. This Lodge was built in 1986, one of the unique qualities of Shimba Hills Lodge is that it is the only tree lodge along the Kenyan Coast with a watering hole next to it.
The lodge also connects to Shimba Hills Forest through wooden walkway. This area is a great place to experience sun downers as you watch the forest inhabitants.
These 18 roomed lodges have two suites, 3 triple rooms and 13 twin rooms. Each of the suites has a living room, is en suite and both are accessible to the waterhole. All the rooms in this lodge have access to amazing views of the watering hole.
The rooms come equipped with basic facilities such as mosquito nets, toiletries and towels. The lodge has a restaurant that accommodates up to 90 guests.
We hope you enjoy at Shimba Hills Lodge. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
